I was born a Queen therefore before I require anybody else to treat me like one I should first treat myself like one by acting, eating and dressing like the Queen I was born to be. – Sarah aka XXL
After having my first workout session with my mother, I came to the realization that it was time for me to truly be the change I wanted to see around me. For too long now, in terms of fitness I’ve been in my comfort zone, I know where I could be but because of the amount of work, determination and discipline it would require from me I remain in this state of denial where I want to believe that I want I’m doing right now is enough.
I know what I’m capable of and for years I kept myself from reaching these fitness goals by a series of self-sabotage. Why??…maybe it’s due to the fear of the unknown, fear of failure or maybe fear of not liking the end result because my body will definitely go through some changes if I start trying more. Some of you are maybe asking yourself: ” What kind of fitness goals am I talking about??”. Well, first I always wanted to run a 10k marathon for breast cancer which I can’t do right now because I need a better cardio. I also want to be able to do 10 chin ups on a fitness bar which I can’t do because my arms are not strong enough. Lastly, I want to increase my speed when doing floor moves when dancing or playing Capoeira. All of these are realistic and doable goals but not without putting the works for it like anything else in life.
I love the way I look now but this should not keep me from waiting to achieve new things. It’s similar to having a great job and because of it never wanting a promotion. To me it makes to sense because that’s not the type of person that I am. Therefore since July 1st I decided to take my fitness life to the next level. I am now DETERMINED, DEDICATED and DISCIPLINED to make this change and hopefully you will also want to improve your fitness level with me.
The “Queen SizED” post will be up every first Monday of every month and it’s where I will show you pictures of my progress. I will also use Twitter, Instagram(@QueenSizedFlava) and Youtube to share daily updates and tips with you so make sure to follow me if you don’t want to miss anything.
