You know by now that on Wednesday, I typically just present an outfit of the day but today allow me to add a little bit more to this post. I didn’t get a chance to go to a lot of events for Black History month but I’m so glad that I was able to make it to “Black Expo Design” happening last Friday. It was their first edition and hopefully it will not be their last one.
I must say and I kind of feel bad about even having mentioning it but I did not have a lot of expectations for this event. Simply due to the fact that all the previous shows I attended, which were organized by the community always tended to not be very well organize but since supporting is very important to me I always make sure to attend and to dress the part ;-). This time, I was pleasantly surprise and except from a few technical issues with the sound and the sitting for the runway show, which I’m pretty sure they will be work on for next year, the night went very well.
The ambiance was on point with some good house music, the crowd looked amazing and diverse. Must I say that typically in Montreal fashion events are not showing a lot of ethnic diversity and we tend to always see the same faces but at “Black Expo Design” there was people from every shade of the rainbow and people were there to socialize.
Local and international designers came together to showcase there creations and each collection brought some exotic flavors either with the colorful patterns or simply with flowy pieces that reminded me of the islands. Feel free to go see the album “Black Expo Design” on the Queen Sized Flava Facebook page to see pictures of my favorite pieces.
Hopefully the next couple of pictures will give you an idea of the ambiance of the night.
